The Files Seem to Go Slow at Work but the Netbooks Are Decent

by admin on September 7th, 2010

The time it takes to get some of the files transferred at work is often slow. They say that the network is 100Mb and that when a lot of people use it at the same time the slowness is to be expected. The company tried installing a wireless network to alleviate some of the congestion, but then everyone started using it and even it got slow. The company also implemented half a dozen cheap netbooks in the office which do help to some extent. The congestion is high usually around the time that everyone has to turn in their daily reports. Using the netbooks to keep the files on is a good way to get this done before the larger departments do. Not too many workers know this though and as long as that is the case, we have a decent solution to the network congestion. The key is to transfer the files from the desktop computer directly to the netbook computer. Then get the files moved over the wireless network and let everyone else worry about when they will get done.
